Our name is our promise:  HALO Learning Works.

As an educational innovator in Hong Kong, we design, develop and deliver a broad range of highly original learning programmes to key professional segments – bankers, brokers, lawyers – across the region.

HALO Learning Works is the next generation of HALO Associates: a Hong Kong-based strategic marketing and organisational development consultancy that’s been producing creative, practical and dynamic learning and development experiences across Asia since 2003.

Over the years HALO has served hundreds of corporate clients and taught thousands of professionals throughout the Asia Pacific region.  And that business will continue, as clients value it highly (and we enjoy doing it!).

What’s changing is that we are moving boldly into the eLearning space.  Our aim is to set the Gold Standard for accredited eLearning for professionals in Hong Kong.

So in addition to our workshops, seminars, off-sites and provision of consulting services related to marketing and organisational transformation, HALO Learning Works will unveil in early 2017 a ground-breaking eLearning platform.

CPD Hong Kong will be the first channel through which we’ll make a broad suite of online courses available to retail clients looking to fulfill annual CPD requirements. We will also make our eLearning offering available to firms wishing to provide their staff access to a broad range of one- and two-hour courses constructed to engage, impart learning and improve particular skill sets and work performance – as well as satisfy their need for CPD points. Adrian “Ho” Overholser

Founder & CEO

Adrian imparts learning with passion on marketing, sales and organisational development matters that leverage his 25 years of broad-based financial services and marketing experience in the U.S., Europe and Asia where he held senior level positions with Citibank, MeesPierson (part of ABN AMRO), Fortis Investments and PR agency Golin/Harris.  At the helm of HALO since 2003, he works primarily with financial and professional service firms to help them in the areas of leadership development, strategic marketing, brand management, cross-cultural sales and sales management.

Sonoko Hara

Director and Senior Consultant

Sonoko is a certified trainer with 15 years of professional experience in Hong Kong constructing and conducting learning and development programmes.  Formerly in financial services in the insurance, venture capital and financial planning industries, Sonoko specialises in course development and delivery.  She also manages all aspects of HALO’s administration and finance.

St. Clair Ripley

St. Clair first visited Hong Kong in 2000, and has been returning frequently ever since, such is the allure of the HKSAR and Inner Mongolia, whence his wife Baiju hails. His career over the past 25 years has spanned editing, copywriting and education, as well as dot.com experience in the U.S. For the last 10 years he has managed St. Clair Properties, a US-based land company. He is a CELTA certified teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL). St. Clair was an initial angel investor in HALO Learning Works.  He and Baiju live in New Jersey, but enjoy surfing in Hawaii.

Peter Succoso

Peter Succoso has over thirty years of diverse experience in finance and the real estate investment business. Over his career, he has held senior positions at O’Connor Capital Partners in New York, Citigroup both in New York and Hong Kong and more recently with Apollo Global Management in Hong Kong. Peter is acutely familiar with legal and compliance training as at Citi he served as the SFC licensed responsible officer holding both Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) and Type 9 (Asset Management) licenses.  His experience spans management, acquisitions, financing, compliance and due diligence and the execution of complex strategies to achieve superior returns. Peter is a permanent resident of Hong Kong where he lives with his wife Angel, a native of Chengdu.

Nigel Watts

Originally from Kent in the UK, Nigel began his investment banking career in London with JPMorgan, where he worked in Equities for nearly 20 years and rose to be SVP, Senior Convertible Bond Trader. He came to Hong Kong in 2004 with JPM, to head up the convertible bond desk, moved to Lehman in 2006, then joined Cantor Fitzgerald in 2009 as MD, Head of Asian Bonds. Since 2014 he’s been at SC Lowy as a Fixed Income Specialist and still trades Asia Convertible Bonds. An avid sportsman and accomplished Dragon Boat and OC6 racer, Nigel has undergone hundreds of hours of compliance related CPD training during his career in finance and looks forward to the day when he can fulfil his CPD requirements sitting at the beach, not in a classroom.
